Mr. Macarius S. Essien is a graduate of Sociology from the University of Calabar. He started his career in Insurance at Hogg Robinson Nigeria Limited in 1989. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London (ACII) and of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (AIIN). He is also an Associate, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB). His extensive professional experience spans General, Marine, Aviation, Oil and Gas and Special Insurance.
In 1999, he joined Central Insurance Company Limited (now Linkage Assurance Plc) as Branch Manager overseeing operations in Port Harcourt and Eastern Region of the country. He was later moved to head the Core Clients Unit with the marketing of FinancialInstitutions in his portfolio. In 2004, he became the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of Interlinks Insurance Brokers Limited and subsequently moved to Anchor Insurance Plc from where he joined Prosure Insurance Brokers Limited.
